Pollypetite Rose of Sharon is exactly that, a petite hibiscus that will fit into any garden! Deep lilac colored flowers show off next to the dark green foliage, enticing everyone in for a closer look. This is a plant for any garden, large or small.
Pollypetite will bloom from summer long into fall, attracting butterflies, bees and a host of other beneficial pollinators. Rose of Sharon are deciduous meaning they lose their leaves in the winter and bloom on new wood the next year. So if you must prune, do it in the fall after the leaves drop. Just think of how many more blooms you will have the following year! You can also float the flowers in water in a centerpiece to impress all your friends.
Pollypetite Rose of Sharon Care
It is hardy from Zone 5a-9b. Just average water and it tolerates a number of soils other than standing water. Like all Rose of Sharon, they are always a hardworking plant in the landscape. Live in a hot area? It is drought and heat tolerant. Live by roads or by the oceans? It is salt tolerant as well. Just about everyone (unless you live in an apartment) have deer grazing their way through your garden. The good thing is they are deer resistant as well! For best flowers and growth full sun is recommended and you will be rewarded with a very floriferous plant.
Pollypetite Rose of Sharon Spacing
Pollypetite is ideal for any garden, large or small or in between. Growing just 3-4 feet tall and wide, you can use it container as the thriller in the back, as a border plant or in your pollinator garden.
