Growing Zones
The Poquito™ Butter Yellow Hummingbird Mint has a smaller stature than other Hummingbird Mint varieties, but it still provides robust color. Yellow flowers grow along tall stems with dark green foliage near the bottom. Enjoy the buttery-yellow blooms of this Agastache from July through September.
Feature the Poquito™ Butter Yellow Hummingbird Mint in the middle or front of beds, borders, and mass plantings. At 10 to 15 inches tall, this dwarf cultivar makes more of an impact up front. Hummingbird mint also does very well in containers; the fragrant flowers can be cut for use in arrangements. Pollinators love the long-lasting blooms. The Poquito™ Butter Yellow Hummingbird Mint grows as a perennial in zones 5 through 10.
Poquito™ Butter Yellow Hummingbird Mint Care
Plant the Poquito™ Butter Yellow Hummingbird Mint in full sun because this plant needs lots of light to thrive. Hummingbird Mint has average water needs, but step up the water during a dry spell. The soil should be moist and well drained. The Poquito™ Butter Yellow Hummingbird Mint is not a heavy feeder, but you can give it a boost with a light dose of balanced fertilizer annually during the spring.
Remove the flower spikes when the blooms fade to encourage more growth and flowers. This clump-forming plant can be propagated through division in the spring as needed.
Poquito Butter™ Yellow Hummingbird Mint Spacing
The Poquito™ Butter Yellow Hummingbird Mint has a bushy growth habit and will reach 10 to 15 inches tall and wide. Plants should be spaced 10 to 15 inches apart when creating a dense bed.
