It’s green foliage contrasted next to the bright pink, two inch flower with yellow stamen will add astonishing color to any garden or landscape. Making its entrance in late summer and blooming through autumn, the Princess Diana Clematis earned a place of honor with the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit! With simple, yet proper care it will bring forth a beautiful performance of blooms that are also said to be shaped like a trumpet. Fertilize once monthly using a 10-10-10 fertilizer. Surrounding with low to ground perennials will help shade and keep the roots moist.
This clematis is in pruning group 3, which means it blooms on new growth each summer. It will lose its leaves in the fall so be sure to prune thoroughly in winter for a healthy and full return of blooms the following summer. For winter weather that drops below freezing, protect the bases of your clematis with a heavy blanket of mulch to keep the root system healthy and happy.
