This sun-loving Beardtongue needs at least 6 hours of daily sunlight. The tall stems may droop when grown in low light levels. The soil should be rich, well-drained, and neutral to acidic in pH. Give the plants one inch of water weekly. Feed Pristine Scarlet Purple Beardtongue with a balanced fertilizer during the fall.
Trim the flower stems when the blooms fade to encourage more growth. All of the growth dies back in the fall and can be removed.
