Blackie is very heat tolerant and is grown in USDA hardiness zones 9-11.
Blackie Sweet Potato Vine has a vigorous growth rate with a trailing habit. This easy care vine is heat and drought tolerant. Proven Accents® Blackie Sweet Potato Vine Care
Blackie Sweet Potato Vine is an easy care, low maintenance vine. It performs well in full to partial sun. It has an average water use and tolerates most any soil type. An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular water-soluble liquid fertilizer on plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance. Tired looking plants can be rejuvenated with an overall trim with pruning shears back or to keep the shape you prefer.
They can be grown as indoor plants in high light areas and will perform well in containers on patios and porches. Foliage is gorgeous all year round.
Proven Accents® Blackie Sweet Potato Vine Spacing
Blackie Sweet Potato Vine is medium height groundcover that reaches 10 inches in height and trails over 70 inches. Spacing should be 24 inches in landscape beds. In containers, space 18-24 inches apart.
