Growing Zones
A shrub native to the southeastern coast of the US, the Rejoyce Coast Leucothoe is a natural landscape addition. It is sure to add contrast with dark green during winter, as well as a complementary neutral green backdrop in the spring and summer with neighboring blooms. In the fall, it turns a moody green and red that will suit the season. This shrub is a classic addition to any garden, elegant in form and function. It can even be useful as filler in bouquets.
The ReJoyce Coast Leucothoe is hardy in zones six through nine. It is evergreen in nature, making it a wonderful addition to zone six gardens. It can be used within the landscape, as well as along borders, and fencing. It is disease resistant, so location and proximity to other plants won’t be an issue. It is quite compact, and can also be grown within containers.
ReJoyce Coast Leucothoe Care
The ReJoyce Coast Leucothoe requires partial sunshine. It needs a moderate amount of water, so if planted in full sun, water more frequently. If a dry stretch is observed, or if planted in a container, this shrub should be watered more often as well. An average soil pH will be appropriate, but this leucothoe could tolerate slightly acidic as well.
This shrub is easy to care for, and shouldn’t need any pruning maintenance. Given its evergreen nature, desire to trim or keep it a certain shape would be a reason to prune.
ReJoyce Coast Leucothoe Spacing
This is a medium sized shrub, growing two to three feet high. These plants should be spaced about three to four feet apart.
