Feature
Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe is a compact aloe with raised coral-pink to red markings that give every leaf a textured, speckled finish. This Aloe 'Sal', also called Sal Aloe and Sal Succulent, forms a tight rosette that matures about 6 to 8 inches tall and 6 to 8 inches wide. Strong light brings out warmer red and orange tones, while the firm triangular leaves keep the plant neat in small containers. Our team recommends it for collectors who want color, texture, and a tidy shape in one small succulent.
Best Locations For Growing Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe
Grow Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe on a sunny windowsill, bright kitchen shelf, office desk, covered patio, or in a mixed succulent bowl. Outdoors, it works well in rock gardens and containers in zones 9 through 11 where frost is not a concern. Aloe plants are not suitable for homes where pets or children may chew plants, since ingestion can cause stomach upset.
Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe Sunlight Requirements
Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe grows best in part sun to full sun with strong, bright light. Indoors, place it near a south- or west-facing window, or use a grow light if natural light is limited. Acclimate the plant gradually before placing it in hot direct afternoon sun outdoors.
Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe Care
Plant Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe in a porous cactus or succulent mix with excellent drainage. A shallow pot with drainage holes suits its compact root system and helps the soil dry between waterings. Repot only when the rosette or offsets crowd the container. Remove spent flower stalks after the coral-orange tubular blooms fade.
Watering Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe
Water deeply when the soil is fully dry, then let the pot drain completely before setting it back in place. Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe prefers average to dry indoor humidity and should not sit in damp soil.
Feeding Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe
Feed Retro Succulents® Sal Aloe once in spring and once in midsummer with a diluted cactus or succulent fertilizer. Light feeding supports steady rosette growth and helps mature plants produce flower stalks without stretching.
