The foliage is a silver-green, with new growth that appears dark burgundy-purple creating a stunning sparkling effect. This long bloomer is disease and deer resistant.

The Rikki Tikki Rouge Crape Myrtle has breathtaking mature foliage that is a silver-green. Its new growth has a deep, purple, burgundy making for a stunning contrast. The blooms that appear in the summer and last through fall are an eye-catching ruby red. The garden height is thirty-six to sixty inches and its spread reaches up to thirty-six to sixty inches. Use this Deciduous shrub for your container planting as a thriller. This Crape Myrtle can be planted as a border plant, focal point in your landscape, and it does well with mass planting. The mounded, dwarf habit allows it to be planted as a low hedge as well.

Rikki Tikki Rouge Crape Myrtle Care

The Rikki Tikki Rouge Crape Myrtle loves the sun. Plant in full sun, ensure it receives at least 6 hours of sun a day. It is adaptable to all soils with varying PH levels. This plant has average water needs and should be planted in well drained soil. In colder areas, die back to the ground is common, regrowth will happen, and blooms will appear in the summer. Any portion not showing life may be cut back. Pruning is not necessary but if trimming is desired, trim as new growth appears.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty whether you’re new or an expert. There are many variables outside our control and yours that can cause the demise of your plant(s). Examples would be hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, disease, insects & many other factors. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all the unknowns and will replace your plant if it moves on to the plant afterlife.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant purchase. We will cover 100% of the price of the plant but the warranty does not cover shipping cost. Simply let us know if your plant has died within one year of receiving it and we’ll get you a new one shipped out. We may ask for photos for documentation purposes but again we’ll try to make it as easy as possible.

    could have been a nice plant but someone messed up the shipping and it was returned to Michigan. fed ex took no care and Box was tossed around pretty badly and broken..

    I live in the deep south and we have extremely hot summers. Crape myrtle can be found all over the place, but none are as pretty as this one growing in my yard. I am going to be trying out the other proven winner crape myrtles as well this spring. very happy customer.
