The unique multi-colored effect of this gorgeous shrub rose will wow all visitors to your garden. The single flower start-off melon-orange with a candy-red eye, then transforms to soft lavender with a pink center. Each flower has five petals and bright yellow stamens, set against handsome, green foliage. Little wonder this plant was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society’s award for rose of the year. Its many attributes include reblooming and being disease resistant and robust.
Ringo All-Star™ Rose Rosa x has an upright habit with a height of 34-36 inches. It attracts pollinators. This shrub rose is resistant to powdery mildew and blackspot. Plant it in the perennial border, as a hedge, or in a mass planting. It makes a fine accent or specimen plant. You may grow it in a container on your patio. This rose is a must-have for the cottage garden.
Ringo All-Star Rose Care
This easy-care plant grows in zones 4-8. When planting, location is important as it must be located where it will receive 6-8 hours of bright sun each day – the more sun the better. Be careful not to wet the leaves when watering, direct the water onto the soil at the base of the shrub. It loves soil that is moist and well drained. Fertilization is not necessary, but you may give it a granular, rose fertilizer in early spring if you wish. It thrives in loamy and sandy soils that are rich and well drained.
There is no need to deadhead this rose plant for it to bloom continuously. It blooms on new wood, so cut it back by 1/3 in early spring – cut it back to a large, vigorous bud. You may remove any spindly stems. It doesn’t need any special winter care, just give it a 2-3-inch dressing of mulch year-round.
Ringo All-Star Rose Spacing
Space plants 36 inches apart on center in the border, in a hedge, or mass plantings. Choose a container that will give a soil depth of 18 inches to 2 feet. Always remember that a container must have good drainage.
