With its cluster of bright yellow flowers, the Rock 'N Round® Bright Idea Sedum is an excellent choice for a sunny or dry spot. This tough and heat-tolerant sedum develops serrated green leaves on red stems in spring before coming into bloom in late summer. Growing to no more than a foot high, it is ideal for filling smaller spaces at the front of a border. This is a low-maintenance perennial that once established needs little coddling.

The Rock 'N Round® Bright Idea Sedum forms a neat and rounded habit that is a mass of yellow flowers come August. Being drought, salt and heat tolerant, this sedum is incredibly versatile and tough. This sedum works well growing in a group, lining a pathway, or adorning a container. With good resistance against rabbits, it is suitable for rural locations.

Rock 'N Round® Bright Idea Sedum Care

To get the best from Rock 'N Round® Bright Idea Sedum, it needs to be grown where it will receive at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. As with all sedums, it prefers poor to average free-draining soil and tends to flop or fall over if given too much moisture or nutrition. Since it does not require much in the way of nutrition, any extra fertilization is not necessary. Water upon planting and during the first season until it is established.

Once it has bloomed, the foliage and seedheads can be left to overwinter on the plant to provide some winter interest and sustenance for the birds. In spring, the stems can be cut back to soil level to make way for new growth.

Rock 'N Round® Bright Idea Sedum Spacing

The Rock 'N Round® Bright Idea Sedum remains compact at a final size of 10-12 inches high by 16-20 inches wide. Plants can be spaced at a distance of 16 to 20 inches apart when planting out as a group.
