  • Use as a thriller when using in containers
  • Fuchsia flowers contrast with upright black stems!

The bright fuchsia flowers with a contrasting black calyx will make Salvia Rockin Fuchsia (Salvia hybrid) stand out from the other flowers in your gardens or pots all gardening season long. This variety of salvia can be grown in full to part sun conditions. This tall annual will grow to a height between 24 and 36 inches with a 24 to 30-inch spread with an upright habit.

Salvia Rockin Fuchsia has won numerous horticultural awards including top performer and best pollinator-friendly annual. This plant makes a great addition to a border or pollinator garden. It can be used in the thriller role in a container garden. The pretty flowers will attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. This annual is heat and drought tolerant plus it’s deer resistant too.

Rockin' Fuchsia Salvia Care

This is a low maintenance sterile variety of salvia. Trim it back occasionally if you want it to be fuller and have more flowers. Water and add a balanced slow-release fertilizer regularly for maximum flowering. Once established, it can tolerate low levels of water and nutrition. The lower leaves will drop off in severe drought conditions. You can grow this plant as an annual or indoors with enough sunlight and the right conditions.

This salvia won’t set seeds, so it will continue to bloom all season long without deadheading. If you forget to water it or it doesn’t rain when you’re away, trim back the top third and resume regular watering. The foliage will fill back in.

Rockin' Fuchsia Salvia Spacing

In a garden bed, space plants 18 - 24 inches apart, center on center. They can be planted a minimum of 6 inches apart in a container to achieve a fuller look. They’ll look great combined with taller plants that produce similar or contrasting color flowers.

    Great Plant!

Posted by Lisa Yarn on Apr 29, 2023

Rockin’ Fuchsia salvia is a fantastic plant! It’s huge, covered with flowers, and attracting bees and birds all summer long. I originally tried it just for fun for a season, but now I plant it every single year.

    Beautiful...

Posted by Yvonne Walker on Apr 28, 2022

I order plants online from a few nurseries for the past several years. This was my first order with Plant Addicts and I was blown away by the attention to detail when I opened my package. As I opened each plant, that was individually wrapped, they were beautiful as if I had just gone to my local nursery and picked them up. This site moves to the top of my list. The plants are doing great, I can't wait until my hummers get here to enjoy them.

    It's definitely "Rockin'!

Posted by Leslie Lynn Shook on Jun 19, 2021

Planted three of these in 2020, in Gulf Coast area, and they bloomed and performed well. The good part is, even though they froze to the ground, in our rare freeze of 15-20 degrees for three days, they came back this spring, even stronger! I never expected that. Many compliments on the color of blooms from gardening friends. I plan on using them in a landscape plan for my church. We are in zone 9a.
