Sassy Summer Taffy Yarrow adds height and color to a bed or border. The Achillea is a hardy and long-blooming perennial. The lace-top blooms first emerge in a deep salmon pink during the spring and gradually shift to a light peachy pink as they mature. The tall branched stems feature delicate, fern-like foliage.  

This perennial is low maintenance and can handle high heat and drought conditions while looking lush and vibrant. Use this plant in borders, beds, or mass plantings. The beautiful flowers attract pollinators, but hungry foragers like deer and rabbits generally leave the plant alone. Sassy Summer Taffy Yarrow grows as a perennial in USDA zones 3 through 9.

Sassy Summer Taffy Yarrow Care

Yarrow plants need at least 6 hours of sunlight; although they can live in partial light, they may become leggy. Let the soil dry out before watering, but this plant will need about one inch of water per week. Soil should have dry to medium moisture and be well-drained. Yarrow is a fast-grower that does well in rich soil. This plant is not a heavy feeder and does not need to be fertilized.

Remove spent flowers to maintain a tidy look and prevent the plant from self-seeding. Prune the stems back after the flowers fade to keep the plant at a manageable size.

This perennial has an upright growth habit and will grow 26 to 32 inches tall and spread 22 to 26 inches. Space plants 18 to 20 inches apart to create a full and continuous planting.
