Plant ScentAmazing Gardenia in well-drained, slightly acidic soil that is kept consistently moist. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature. In colder zones, provide winter protection by mulching heavily and planting in a sheltered location. Prune in late winter or early spring to remove any winter-damaged stems and to shape the shrub.
Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, acid-forming fertilizer to encourage lush growth and abundant blooms.
