The white blooms have bright yellow flower centers, and petals age to soft yellow or gold before dropping, a normal part of the flower cycle. Use it as an accent, fragrant border, low hedge, mass planting, cut flower shrub, or container plant for porches and outdoor living areas.

Plant ScentAmazing Gardenia in full sun to part shade, giving it morning sun or bright filtered light in hot climates. It can take more sun than many gardenias when soil moisture is steady, though afternoon shade helps protect foliage and buds during heat. Grow it in rich, well-drained acidic soil with a pH around 5.0 to 6.5.

Water deeply after planting and keep the root zone evenly moist while the shrub establishes. Established plants need less frequent watering, but check during hot dry spells because bud drop can happen when soil dries too far between soakings. Fertilize in late spring with a slow-release fertilizer for acid-loving plants, and water well after feeding.
