Botanically called Coreopsis Permathread™ 'Shades of Rose', this tickseed produces stunning blooms of pink petals that darken towards the tip and yellow centers. With a maximum height of around 18 inches, Shades of Rose Threadleaf Tickseed is a versatile perennial that will add color wherever you plant it.
Easy to grow and care for, this tickseed makes the perfect gift for any gardener. Drought and deer resistant, Shades of Rose Threadleaf Tickseed is perfect for southern rural landscapes. This perennial is native to North America and grows well in zones 5 to 9. It is ideal for growing in an herbaceous border, in swaths, or in a container.
Shades of Rose Threadleaf Tickseed Care
Shades of Rose Threadleaf Tickseed prefers full sun but also grows well in partial shade. It requires well-drained soil and can tolerate dry and even poor soils. Water well for the first season, after which it is fairly tolerant of drought-like conditions. When grown in rich soil, fertilizing is generally not required. However, on poorer soils, you can apply a balanced slow-release feed sparingly in spring.
Regular deadheading will help encourage new flowers to form all summer long. In winter, simply cut back all stems to just above ground level.
Shades of Rose Threadleaf Tickseed Spacing
Over time, the Shades of Rose Threadleaf Tickseed forms mounds around 16 to 18 inches tall and wide. When growing en masse, you can plant this coreopsis around 16 inches apart for maximum effect.
