Growing Zones
Tall stems laden with blue flowers gently sway in the breeze and provide stunning texture in addition to the lovely blooms. The Six Hills Giant Catmint provides reliable color from late spring through summer. Dense, gray-green foliage covers the lower portions of the stems and offers a lovely backdrop for the flowers.
Plant this catmint cultivar in a bed, border, or mass planting near a busy area so the fragrant flowers can be completely enjoyed. The tall, flowering stems can easily fill in the back of a bed, line a walkway, or conceal a foundation wall. This easy-care plant is both drought- and heat-tolerant. This plant is a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 8.
Six Hills Giant Catmint Care
The Six Hills Giant Catmint prefers full sun and moist soil to provide good drainage. Water this perennial plant weekly or when the top few inches of soil dry out. Catmint can handle dry conditions but continue to water during a dry spell for best results. Fertilize each spring to support new growth.
Cut the tall stems back by one-third if the stems become leggy. All growth can be trimmed back in the late fall or early spring.
Six Hills Giant Catmint Spacing
Six Hills Giant Catmint is a tall, mounded, upright plant that will grow 24 to 30 inches tall and spread 3 to 4 feet wide. Space plants 3 to 4 feet to create a dense bed.
