Water regularly, especially in the first season as the plant establishes its roots. Incorporate a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to maintain lush growth. 

Light pruning after the main bloom window helps the plant retain its neat shape and rebloom later in the season. In containers, check moisture levels more frequently, as potted plants dry faster.
