Snapdragons are known for their showy blooms, but the Snapshot™ Red Bicolor Snapdragon takes things to a new level. Also known as Antirrhinum majus 'Red Bicolor’, the tubular flowers are a bold red with bright yellow accents. The flowers grow densely along tall upright stalks and bloom in ascending order from spring through early fall. The fresh, sweet scent makes these flowers even more alluring.
Grow the Snapshot™ Red Bicolor Snapdragon in a landscape, border, or container. These annuals make an excellent filler in a container or window box but also look darling near the front of a mixed bed. The flowers attract beneficial insects and support bees and hummingbirds. These annuals are easy to maintain and vigorous growers, so they do well in most applications. Stay on top of pruning to encourage continuous blooms.
Snapshot™ Red Bicolor Snapdragon Care
Plant Snapshot™ Red Bicolor Snapdragon plants in full sun. Snapdragons prefer neutral, rich soil that is moist and well drained. Keep the soil damp but not soggy or dry. Apply fertilizer every few weeks to support new growth.
Trim spent flower stalks to maintain a neat appearance and encourage new growth and flowers. The first flower stalks are the tallest, and secondary stalks will not get as big but will still produce showy blooms. Remove all growth after the first heavy frost.
Snapshot™ Red Bicolor Snapdragon Spacing
The Snapshot™ Red Bicolor Snapdragon stands 6 to 10 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide. Space plants 10 to 12 inches apart or grow 3 plants in a 12-inch container.
