The tubular flowers of the Snapshot™ Sunset Snapdragon invoke the beauty of a sunset all day long. The sunny yellow flowers have mottled reddish-orange accents near the center, giving the blooms a bright and bold look. The petals have a slight ruffle that adds a bit more flare. The flowers of the Antirrhinum majus 'Sunset' grow compactly along tall, upright stems, creating an impressive display. Narrow, lance-shaped foliage anchors the plant and provides additional color and texture.
Feature this Snapdragon in a mixed bed, landscape, or container. The unique flowers make a stunning mass planting. The Snapshot™ Sunset Snapdragon has some seriously good looks, but the blooms are also fragrant. Plant this beauty in a high-traffic area to enjoy the light and fruity scent. The flowers also attract pollinators like bees and hummingbirds.
Snapshot™ Sunset Snapdragon Care
Snapshot™ Sunset Snapdragons are sun-loving plants that need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Plant them in a soil that is moist, neutral in pH, and rich. The ideal soil will allow drainage because snapdragons do not like wet, soggy conditions. Give the plants one inch of water per week, depending on rainfall. Apply a balanced fertilizer every two to four weeks.
Trim faded flower stalks to encourage more blooms and a bushier habit. Remove all growth after the first frost.
Snapshot™ Sunset Snapdragon Spacing
The Snapshot™ Sunset Snapdragon stands 6 to 10 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide. Space plants 10 to 12 inches apart for a dense planting, or grow three plants in a 16-inch container.
