- Height 4-8 Inches
- Width 20-36 Inches
- Use as a spiller when using in containers
- Low care beautiful plant that sells out fast!
- Growing Zones 9 - 11
This charming low-maintenance beauty produces an abundance of five-lobed white flowers, each with a yellow eye. An award winner, its versatility and resilience made it a bestseller. The white flowers are prominent against green heart-shaped leaves; they bloom from planting to frost. The compact, 4-8-inch-high plant trails up to 36 inches with excellent branching and medium vigor. Use Snowstorm® Giant Snowflake ®to complement other plants or to stand alone.
The plant will not wilt even if thirsty, but a lack of water will interrupt flowering and cause buds to drop off, therefore keeping this South African native moist. With its trailing growth habit, Giant Snowflake® Bacopa plays the role of spiller in a container -- use it in hanging baskets, window boxes, and combination planters. In the landscape, plant it as edging or as a ground cover. It looks stunning in moss plantings.
Snowstorm® Giant Snowflake® Bacopa Care
Prepare beds with fertilizer or compost before planting and regularly fertilize pots. Deadheading is not needed, but as it matures you may notice a matted layer of dead stems underneath the plant. It is OK to remove the dead part entirely. Apply an average amount of water and do not let the plant dry out between waterings.
Remember that hanging baskets require more frequent watering. A potting mix rich in organic material will retain water better than dry, porous potting mixes. The plant thrives in part sun to full sun.
Snowstorm® Giant Snowflake® Bacopa Spacing
Combine this white beauty with boldly colored Supertunia® and Superbena® for a stunning effect. Plant one Snowflake® Bacopa with two each of the other plants in a 12-inch pot. In the landscape give it a space of 8-10 inches for optimum growth.
