Sutera Snowstorm Rose is an evergreen with heart-shaped green leaves that have a pleasant smell. It is covered with pink flowers from spring until the first hard frost. Sutera Snowstorm Rose is disease and heat resistant, so would grow well in hot, humid areas.
The ancestor of Sutera Snowstorm Rose was discovered in South Africa. Used in containers, Sutera Snowstorm Rose is considered a filler, even as it cascades up to 24 inches over the side. When planted as an edging or groundcover, that spread translates into needing fewer plants to get the job done. No matter where you plant it, Sutera Snowstorm Rose attracts bees.
Snowstorm® Rose Bacopa Care
When planted in beds, Sutera Snowstorm Rose needs some compost or slow-release fertilizer to look its best. In containers, it needs regular feedings with a water-soluble fertilizer. Sutera Snowstorm Rose is self-cleaning so doesn’t require deadheading. It needs a fair amount of water. If drought stressed, Sutera Snowstorm Rose jettisons its flowers and buds. It can take as long as two weeks after a drink before the flowers grow again. Sutera Snowstorm Rose grows in full sun, part shade, or shade. If grown in full sun, the soil needs to stay moist without it being soggy. Sutera Snowstorm Rose needs well-drained, rich soil.
Sutera Snowstorm Rose grows as a perennial in South Africa. In most of the U.S., it freezes to death in the winter. You can bring the container it lives in inside for the winter, then set it outside when it warms up, but most people just replace Sutera Snowstorm Rose every spring.
Snowstorm® Rose Bacopa Spacing
Sutera Snowstorm Rose is a short little plant, growing only 4-10 inches tall. As has been mentioned, it spreads from 12-24 inches on the ground or over the edge of a container. To give Sutera Snowstorm Rose enough room to grow, space the plants 8-12 inches from each other.
