A true beauty from the base of the plant, all the way to the tip of the leaves. The Standing Ovation Little Bluestem is native, and it provides texture all year long. If the textural and ecological attributes don’t thrill you, then the colors will. From the base of the plant, a light green to purple at the end. This ombre effect will leave you dazzled and your landscape interesting.

This native grass is low maintenance. It is a friend to songbirds, and butterflies. It provides a sanctuary for other native wildlife around the area. It’s versatile in function, it grows upright and can be used in borders, as background filler, ground cover, or even in containers. It’s easy to grow, and can thrive in most places.

Standing Ovation Little Bluestem Care

This perennial grass can survive in hardiness zones three through eight. It will prefer full sun, but is easy to care for in other ways. It can survive in poor and dry soils. It is drought resistant in nature but does enjoy a nice drink now and then.

Standing Ovation Little Bluestem trimming is up to the growers preference. It can grow very tall, so trimming may be preferred to keep growth at bay.

Standing Ovation Little Bluestem Spacing

This perennial shrub can grow three to four feet high. It should be spaced 18 to 24 inches apart, to allow the plants some room to breathe.
