Choose a planting location with partial shade to full sun. The Stay Classy™ Purple Leaf Sand Cherry prefers loamy, moist soil that is slightly acidic and well drained. This shrub is drought tolerant and can handle dry conditions but it appreciates water during a prolonged drought. Apply a ring of organic mulch around the base of the plant to retain moisture and provide nutritional support.
Remove dead or damaged branches at any time. Prune to shape in the spring after the flowers fade. The Stay Classy™ Purple Leaf Sand Cherry blooms on old wood, so pruning after blooming ensures a full flush of flowers each year.
