The Sugar Tip rose of Sharon has a unique foliage that is sure to add whimsical character to your yard. It is a blue green foliage, with tips that are variegated white. It produces an abundance of double pale pink blooms all summer long. This deciduous shrub is tall, it grows to a height of sixty to seventy-two inches. It’s has an upright growth habit with a spread of forty-eight to seventy-two inches. Plant this Rose of Sharon as a thriller in a container. It works wonderfully when planted as a border plant, for screening and hedges.

To care for your Sugar Tip Rose of Sharon be sure to plant in full sun, ensuring it receives 6 plus hours of sun a day. This rose of Sharon can flourish in any soil unless it is extremely wet or too dry. Medium moisture is optimal with good drainage. It has average water needs. Fertilizer for this shrub should be slow release and applied in the early spring. Pruning needs to be done in the late fall or early spring, heavy pruning is ok.
