Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet has, you guessed it, large trumpet-like violet flowers. Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet Grows best in dappled sunlight. This is a rare flowering plant that likes part to full shade. It blooms from planting to frost without requiring deadheading. Evan though Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet likes dappled sun, it is very heat tolerant.
While deer don’t like Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet, bees and hummingbirds do. Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet is very versatile and grows well in window boxes, mixed containers, hanging baskets, or in the landscape. Plant it so that the Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet spills over the edge of the container and it will trail up to 36 inches.
Summer Wave® Large Violet Wishbone Flower Care
Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet needs a dose of compost or slow-release fertilizer when it is planted. In pots or containers, it needs regular feeding with a water-soluble fertilizer. Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet is a very easy keeper; it just needs an average amount of water and can be planted in average soil. The plant does like high humidity, though.
A perennial, Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet doesn’t survive the winter in almost all of the U.S. If placed in dappled sunlight, Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet can overwinter inside in its hanging baskets and containers.
Summer Wave® Large Violet Wishbone Flower Spacing
Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet’s height, 8-10 inches, is misleading. It cascades over containers up to 36 inches, so its talents are best displayed in a container or hanging basket. When planting Torenia Summer Wave Large Violet, space it 10-12 inches apart and at the front of the container.
