A blissfully easy to care for plant that adds color and sophistication. The Summer Wine Ninebark has a poised, compact growing habit that is arched. It is a fast-growing plant. Its foliage is a graceful wine color with pale pink blooms. It is highly pest resistant and easy to care for.

The foliage of the Summer Wine Ninebark is a deep purple wine color. The blooms season begins in the late spring and produces light pink button blooms. This North American native has a height of sixty-seventy-two inches with a spread that is sixty to seventy-two inches. The Summer Wine Ninebark makes for a beautiful addition to bouquets. It makes a great addition to any landscape and does well in mass planting. This Ninebark can serve the thriller role in a container, or plant as a border plant.

Summer Wine Ninebark Care

The Summer Wine Ninebark requires full sun with a minimum of 6 hours of sun per day. It has average water needs and requires moist well drained soils. This Ninebark can tolerate acidic and alkaline soils. Once established it is drought tolerant. Fertilize with a slow release fertilizer for trees and shrubs in the early spring.

Pruning Summer Wine Ninebark should be avoided to avoid avoid disturbing its growth habit. If pruning is desired, do so right after flowering season, and very selectively.
