The look and fine texture of a fern with the ability to thrive in full sun sets the SunFern™ Arcadia Russian Wormwood apart. The fern-like foliage has a lacey quality and a lovely medium-green hue. The botanical name of this leafy plant is Artemisia gmelinii. Russian Wormwood is a low-maintenance plant grown for its showy foliage. 

The lovely foliage of SunFern™ Arcadia Russian Wormwood mixes well with other plants. Use it to fill empty spaces or introduce texture in a mixed bed or along a border or edging. The height is perfect for filling the space between short plants at the front of a bed and tall plants at the back. Russian Wormwood makes a beautiful ground cover underneath trees and shrubs, and does not need protection from hot sun. Use the Artemisia gmelinii as a filler in a container arrangement. This deer-resistant perennial grows in zones 4 through 9.

Plant SunFern™ Arcadia in part to full sun. Russian Wormwood can live in some shade, but it needs direct sun to thrive. Provide rich, moist, and well-drained soil. This perennial has average water needs, but new plants need frequent watering until established. Fertilize in spring and again by midsummer to encourage more growth.

The SunFern™ Arcadia Russian Wormwood is an herbaceous perennial. Trim faded growth to ground level in the late winter or early spring.
