- Height 10-14 Inches
- Width 12-16 Inches
- Use as a filler when using in containers
- Blooms from spring planting until the first frost!
Like the summer sun, Nemesia Sunsatia Blood Orange glows with bright yellow, orange and reddish warmth in a garden bed or container. The low-growing annual blooms nonstop from planting time through the first frost with no need to trim or deadhead the gorgeous blooms. Use this Nemesia as a filler in hanging baskets or other containers. The warm orange hues will contrast nicely with taller blue or purple plants and even deep green foliage.
Nemesia is an easy-care flowering plant that grows to about a foot high and 12 to 16 inches around in a slightly mounded and spreading habit. Sunsatia Blood Orange produces an abundance of flowers with a range of orange and red colors that resemble mini-orchid blooms. And the versatile plant blooms continuously when in the hot sun or part shade, so it works just as well as a low mass planting in a sunny bed as it will when combined with other flowering plants in a part-shady container on your patio.
Sunsatia® Blood Orange Nemesia Care
One reason Nemesia Sunsatia Blood Orange shines in hanging baskets, pots and raised beds is that it needs average water but good drainage. If you plant it in the ground, be sure it does not go in a low spot or other area that stays wet for a long time. Water the container regularly, but not if the soil feels wet, and fertilize container-grown Nemesia every few weeks in summer. Nemesia grown in the ground needs only one application of a balanced fertilizer.
This Nemesia can handle cool evenings in fall and hot summer days, so it should need no care or special attention over the growing season. If the plant becomes too large, gardeners can trim it back lightly with a sharp pair of scissors. Otherwise, just plant, water and enjoy the blood-orange blooms.
Sunsatia® Blood Orange Nemesia Spacing
Even though Nemesia works well as a filler plant in containers, it can reach nearly a foot high, so place it before or among slightly taller plants for best effect. Space each Nemesia about 8 to 12 inches apart and watch them grow together into an orange mass of easy-care flowers.
