Cool and collected is a great way to describe Nemesia ‘Sunsatia’. This is a plant that thrives in slightly cooler weather with a profuse amount of cascading flowers. It produces an enormous amount of small white flowers that fill up those spaces in a planting left by bigger plants.
‘Sunsatia’ is that one plant that fits in anywhere, in a container, in a hanging basket or a deck box. Sunsatia Coconut Nemesia is winter hardy in Zones 10a-11b and does well in part sun to full sun. Blooms from the time you plant it until a hard frost.
Sunsatia® Coconut Nemesia Care
It is best to plant ‘Sunsatia’ in containers since they don’t like wet feet especially if you are in an area that gets a lot of rain. However if you have raised beds that drain well they will be very happy there.
No need to deadhead this Nemesia but if you feel the urge or it looks a little raggedly, a pair of sharp scissors or pruners will do the trick for you. If you have warm nighttime temperatures, they may go out of bloom so a little haircut will definitely help them bloom again. If you are growing ‘Sunsatia’ in the landscape, a yearly application of fertilizer or compost is recommended or a twice monthly application of a water soluble fertilizer if you are growing it in a container.
Sunsatia® Coconut Nemesia Spacing
Because this plants growing habit, it doesn’t need as much space in between this plant and other plants as you would expect. Provide at least 8 - 12 inches of space, center on center. This will help the plant have enough space to remain healthy once it reaches its mature size.
