With its light and subtle fragrance, Rosa Sunset Horizon’s bright yellow petals gorgeously fade into a deep cherry shade as the flower blooms fully.
Rosa Sunset Horizon is low maintenance and disease resistant rose grows from 2 to 3 feet in height and 2 to 3 feet in width. Sunset Horizon thrives in USDA hardiness zones 5 through 9. This rose can be grown in containers or in beds with average soil with good drainage. Sunset Horizon requires full sun (approximately 6 hours a day). Attractive to pollinators and butterflies, Sunset Horizon will offer a light summer feel to your garden.
Sunset Horizon Rose Care
Sunset Horizon is easy to care for. Requiring full sun, the rose should be placed in an area that receives nearly 6 hours of sunlight a day in order for the rose to healthily maintain its bright and eye-catching blooms. The rose does well in average soil with watering about once per week. Watering should be done at the base of the rose with care to avoid foliage and its flowers. When fertilizing, it is best to use a granular dose fertilizer that is absorbed at root level. We recommend fertilizers that contain alfalfa meal on roses.
Pruning Sunset Horizon can be done to direct the shape of the rose. On occasion, you can prune back older stems a few inches from the soil in order to promote healthy growth from the base. Floribunda pruning can be done in early spring. When a rose flower has bloomed, cut just above the five-leaf part on a stem. This will encourage repeat blooming; however, deadheading should be stopped in the fall.
Sunset Horizon Rose Spacing
Sunset Horizon roses can be planted in large containers that will allow its roots to mature and grow fully. When planting in the ground, Sunset Horizon should be given about 2 to 3 feet in width space between each plant and other structures like houses and trees.
