Bring coral reef color to your summer getaway! Superbena® Raspberry Verbena hybrid is a vigorous non-stop powerhouse of flower production. Red coral clusters of blooms contrast with the deep green foliage. Blooms are long lasting from spring until fall.
This verbena is drought-tolerant, heat resistant, and is a mildew-resistant variety. In a landscape, Superbena raspberry verbena looks stunning. It resembling a thick trailing ground cover when planted in masses. Verbena is typically used as a spiller when used container culture.
Superbena® Raspberry Verbena Care
Verbena requires sun to part sun approximately 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. Easy to care for, verbena thrives in dry soils and tolerates low fertility. Add a slow-release fertilizer to containers or apply an annual application of fertilizer or compost in garden beds. Its water requirements are average, and once established it is drought tolerant. No trimming is needed, but it can be cut back at any time.
Superbena® Raspberry Verbena is an outdoor annual to zones 7 and below. It is a hardy perennial in zones 8 to 11. To overwinter, trim the plant to about one-third of its size, and bring it indoors before the first hard frost. Keep verbena in a high humidity area with at least 6 hours of light. It can be kept as a houseplant to overwinter. Transplant it back outdoors when spring frost has past.
Superbena® Raspberry Verbena Spacing
A minimum of 7 inches spacing in container planting is needed. A 12-inch pot or hanging basket is a great size to pot up Superbena® Raspberry Verbena hybrid. Space this plant 10 to 14 inches when planting in the landscape.
