If your garden or patio is feeling a little dreary or tired, try adding a little passion with this productive, dependable, and gorgeous plant. The rich scarlet hue and velvety texture of Superbena Royale® Romance flowers ignite your garden with color and visual interest. This is an incredibly hardy plant that does well in both containers and garden beds with a variety of soil. Superbena Royale is more compact than Superbena, but remains a vigorous grower. It is heat, drought and mildew tolerant, as well as deer resistant.
The mounding, trailing growth habit of Superbena Royale makes it the perfect container plant, because it can act as both a filler and a spiller. It will grow in a full, mounded shape that also features cascades of trailing flowers that soften edges of containers, sidewalks and borders. The rich red flowers attract butterflies all season long.
Superbena Royale® Romance Verbena Care
A strong performer in a variety of conditions, Superbena Royale Romance does best when planted with fertilizer or compost. Reapply fertilizer occasionally to containers. Water when soil is dry to the touch.
This is a self-cleaning variety that does not require deadheading. A little trim with scissors can encourage fuller growth but is not always necessary.
Superbena Royale® Romance Verbena Spacing
Superbena Royale Romance Verbena can be planted 8-12” apart in garden beds. They grow better in smaller containers than their larger Superbena cousins. When planting in pots, give them 6-10” of space.
