This plant loves warm, humid conditions. Grow it in moist, well-drained, and slightly acidic soil. Water your sweet potato vine often, but do not allow the soil to get soggy. Sweet potato vines are not heavy feeders, but they can benefit from an application of slow-release fertilizer per label instructions. If this annual becomes too vigorous, snip back some of the foliage to prevent it from overwhelming neighboring plants.
