Growing Zones
The sweet and tangy berries of the Taste of Heaven™ Blackberry will be a joy to eat when they ripen in midsummer. Being a thornless hybrid, this blackberry will also be painless to harvest from. Growing to around 3 to 4 feet tall, it does not need a trellis and produces large black fruits that are rich in flavor. It ripens early and has a long productive season.
Taste of Heaven™ Blackberry Care
The Taste of Heaven™ Blackberry will produce the highest yields when it is planted in full sun. However partial shade is also tolerated. It prefers fertile and moist soil that is well drained. Space multiple plants around 3 feet apart to provide space for harvesting the fruit and for plants to spread. Prune fruited canes back to the ground in the winter.
Growing Taste of Heaven™ Blackberry
The white flowers in spring later develop into red fruits, which turn black when they are ripe. Mulch annually to enrich the soil and help prevent moisture loss over the summer.
Taste of Heaven™ Blackberry grows best in the ground in a vegetable patch or wildlife area. You can also grow it successfully in a large container or raised bed with frequent irrigation.
Watering Taste of Heaven™ Blackberry
Water regularly to keep the soil moist during the first growing season. Once established, water this blackberry during dry spells and as the fruits form to encourage them to swell.
Feeding Taste of Heaven™ Blackberry
To support cane and fruit production, fertilize early in spring using a slow-release balanced feed.
