Tiny Pearl is a dwarf Asiatic Lily with gorgeous clear pink flower petals. The highly compact plant does not grow taller than 18 inches and is perfect for the front of the garden or in a container on the deck or patio. The full-sized flowers of Tiny Pearl Lily begin to bloom early in the summer and attract beneficial pollinators, hummingbirds, and butterflies for weeks. Tiny Pearl is from the Lily Looks™ series bred in Holland. The series is intended for container growing in the smallest gardens.
Tiny Pearl Lily is the perfect thriller element in a container or a lovely specimen at the front of a cottage garden bed. The large flowers are wonderful in bouquets and have little to no fragrance, making them perfect for those with allergies or sensitivities. The foliage stays deep green to the bottom of the stem and is less prone to yellowing or fungal rust.
Tiny Pearl Lily Care
Plant Tiny Pearl in a location with full sun to partial shade in well-draining soil. Lilies prefer a soil pH that is slightly acidic to neutral. Fertilize the bulbs early in spring with a granular bulb fertilizer such as bone meal or a commercial formulation. Underwatering lilies is better than overwatering since they are prone to root rot and prefer to dry out between waterings. One inch of water a week is enough to support flower budding.
Deadheading needs to be done as the flowers die back. Remove individual flowers from the flower cluster, being careful not to disturb any still-developing buds. Allow the foliage to stay on the bulb as long as possible after flowering has stopped. This helps the bulb bulk up and prepare for the next blooming cycle. Remove the stems only after they have entirely withered and browned. Mulch with 2-3 inches of arborist chips, finely shredded bark, or leaves in the fall to insulate the soil.
Tiny Pearl Lily Spacing
The mature height of Tiny Pearl is 15-18 inches with a narrow spread of 12-15 inches. Space plants 10 inches apart when growing Tiny Pearl in a large group. When growing in containers, select a pot at least 8 inches in diameter with excellent drainage.
