The Tsukiko™ Clematis is a vining perennial that dazzles. This plant is a natural climber and will grow along a trellis or anything nearby. The vines are mesmerizing and provide visual interest and greenery, but this beauty also blooms. Stark white flowers feature purple anthers and last for an extended period of time. Green foliage will gently peak out during the summer between the large blooms.
Plant Clematis near a fence, trellis, arbor, or anything solid it can use as a support. Plant in a container with support to create a moveable privacy screen for a balcony or patio space. The beautiful flowers attract pollinators, so plant this stunner in a butterfly garden or near a window so you can admire the visitors. This plant is a perennial in USDA zones 5 through 9.
Tsukiko™ Clematis Care
Clematis plants thrive in full sun, so plant in an area that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight each day. Soil should be rich, moist, slightly alkaline, and well-draining. Water this perennial weekly or when the top several inches of the soil dry out.
Feed this plant in the spring using a fertilizer low in nitrogen. Continue to feed the plant throughout the growing season using a balanced fertilizer. Remove all of the growth in the fall after the first frost, or leave the growth in place and remove it in the spring.
Tsukiko™ Clematis Spacing
This vining plant will grow 5 to 6 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. Create a border or cover a fence by spacing plants 2 to 3 feet apart. Grow one plant in an 8- to 10-inch container.
