Coneflowers are a summertime classic, and the Vintage Pink Coneflower or Echinacea x Sunmagic Vintage Pink will surely bring colorful blooms and a vibrant look to a space. The large, open flowers have a daisy-like appearance. Deep pink petals surround a large brown cone, giving the plant dimension and texture. Flowers bloom continuously from July through September. Green foliage comes to a point and provides additional color and texture.

The Vintage Pink Coneflower has a compact form and works well in a cottage- or meadow-themed space. Feature this mounded, upright perennial in a border, mixed bed, or a stunning mass planting. This coneflower also works well in container arrangements where it serves as the ‘filler’. Pollinators enjoy the summertime flowers, while small animals, including songbirds, appreciate the seeds available during the fall. The Vintage Pink Coneflower grows in zones 4 through 9.

Vintage Pink Coneflower Care

Coneflowers are easy to maintain, but full sun is a must. Give the plant rich, moist, well-drained soil with a neutral pH. Too much of anything, except sunlight, is often problematic for coneflowers. Overly rich soil causes plants to become leggy, and overly wet conditions will lead to root rot. Once established, these plants can handle dry conditions, but water during a dry spell to keep the flowers coming. Fertilize annually each spring with a slow-release plant food.

Remove faded flowers to encourage more abundant blooming and extend the flower cycle. Leave the growth in place to allow birds to feed on the seed. Remove all growth to ground level in late winter before the spring growth emerges.

Vintage Pink Coneflower Spacing

Mature plants reach 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart to create a continuous planting. Plant one clump in an 18-inch container.
