Growing Zones
Huge, fragrant, vibrant scarlet blooms with a yellow eye are produced on a low, compact plant that flowers continuously throughout the growing season. This perennial can reach a height of 4 to 6 inches with a spread of 6 to 8 inches without becoming leggy in the heat.
Low maintenance, somewhat trailing, and with a vigorous root system, this pansy will do well in a perennial garden, walkway area, tree underplanting, and in a mass planting in a pot or container of at least 24 inches in height and width. Not particularly drought tolerant although it has a high resistance to heat. Winter hardy in zones 4 to 8.
Viola Penny™ Red Blotch Viola Care
This pansy grows best in full sun to partial shade in average but well-drained garden soil and is not fussy about pH. No deadheading is recommended although it may be pruned in early spring to remove any growth damaged over the winter.
Viola Penny™ Red Blotch Viola Spacing
Plant with a spacing of 6 inches apart when planted en masse in a perennial bed, walkway, tree underplanting and in a pot or container.
