Then you definitely want to have Wax Wings ‘Lime Mirror’ bush. ‘Lime Mirror is a vivid, low growing evergreen that features a montage of glossy evergreen foliage year round. This is a plant that not only can be used in the garden, mixing with other plants, but can bring brightness into the home during the dark winter days.
One of the things that plagues most plants is that deer find it very attractive . This plant is very deer resistant, so no worries there! Since this is predominantly a warm weather coastal plant, one of the plus factors of it is that ‘Lime Mirror’ is salt tolerant. That makes it ideal for those areas. If you don’t live in those areas but still want to grow it, just plant it outside in well-draining soil then dig it up and bring it inside as a colorful houseplant! This plant can also be used as a hedge, a border, mass planting, or a focal point in the landscape. It really is the Jack of All Trades plant!
Waxwing Lime Mirror Bush Care
It is an easy to care for plant, that blooms on old wood in the spring. Depending on your location it blooms from very early spring into early winter. It likes part to full sun and only requires trimming as desired. The flowers are insignificant and are well hidden among the foliage.
Waxwing ‘Lime Mirror’ is hardy in Zones 9a to 11b, primarily in coastal areas. Otherwise consider it a tender annual in your area.
Waxwing Lime Mirror Bush Spacing
Using Waxwing ‘Lime Mirror Bush’ bush is variable. If using it as a mass planting or hedge, it should be planted 32-36 inches apart. If you are keeping it shorter to use as a border, it can be planted 24 inches apart. As a houseplant you can keep it as large or as small as you like. We recommend using a 12 inch or larger container with a drainage hole.
