This evergreen perennial will look fantastic in your shady to partially shady garden all year long. These colorful blossoms fade from dark to light pink from the center. This plant can be grown in a wide variety of climates from zone 4 through zone 9. It has a 24-inch spread with a height between 18 and 24 inches. This plant is poisonous if ingested. Contact with human skin may produce a rash.

This easy to care for plant has average watering needs and is mildly drought tolerant once established. It will grow in average to fertile soils in a wide range of pH conditions. Amend the soil with a balanced fertilizer in the spring when new growth appears.

Cut back the flower spikes after the tips of the flower petals have turned brown. Remove winter damaged, ragged foliage from the plant’s base in the spring.
