The blooming hellebore is a true sign of spring. The clear white double blossoms of this evergreen perennial start blooming early to mid spring. A medium height shade perennial, sends out exquisite double blooms above leathery green foliage. Wedding Bells would be a wonderful addition to your woodland themed garden.
This Lenten Rose is hardy in zones 4-9 and can be used as an upright filler in your shade containers. In the landscape it can be used in borders or as a mass planting. The 2-2.5” flowers attract bees and make an excellent cut flower. This easy perennial is both drought and salt tolerant and resists both deer and rabbit visitors to your garden.

Plant Wedding Bells in part to full shade for best performance. Amend the soil when planting with a rich compost mix. Hellebores prefer average to fertile soil and like to have moist, but not soggy soil.
In spring, before the Lenten Rose blooms, is a great time to clean up any leaves that have winter damage, and dead leaves. Deadheading this plant after it has finished blooming will create a tidier plant, however the seed heads can be left as it tends to reseed.
