For a low-maintenance and compact flowering shrub, it is hard to beat a Knock Out® Rose. The White Knock Out® Rose brings all the elegance and beauty of a white rose without the muss and fuss of rose growing. Extremely disease resistant and petite in size, the White Knock® Out is sure to liven up your garden with its soft white petals and gold stamens. The nearly black leaves allow those bright white blooms to really stand out and make a statement! This Knock Out® rose blooms from May to October, giving your garden a consistent beauty and attracting swarms of butterflies and bees.
The White Knock Out® Rose grows to be 3-4 feet tall and wide, making it a great fit for gardens of any size. Knock Out® Roses are bred specifically to be more disease resistant than the average rose, allowing them to be more low maintenance for the average gardener. This hardy rose has a slight citrusy scent and is a great addition to a cut-flower garden.
White Knock Out® Rose Care
The White Knock Out® Rose tends to bloom and grow best when provided with full sun and regular deep watering, especially in hotter and drier periods. Knock Out® Roses can be planted in neutral, well-draining soil. To plant it, dig a hole that is twice the width and of equal depth as the root ball. If the soil is sandy or clay, amend with compost or soil conditioner to ensure adequate drainage. In the spring, feed the White Knock Out® Rose with a balanced fertilizer formulated for roses.
To maintain the size and shape of a Knock Out® Rose, cut it back to about 12 inches in late winter or early spring. Remove dead or damaged wood at any point in the year to reduce the risk of disease and improve air flow. When watering, avoid wetting the leaves to prevent foliar infections. Spent blooms and rose hips can be removed as well to improve the look of the bush and encourage additional blooming.
White Knock Out® Rose Spacing
Plant the White Knock Out® Rose 4 to 6 feet away from other plants to allow for room to grow. When planting as a hedge or en masse, Knock Out® Roses can be planted slightly closer together. The White Knock Out® Rose can be kept in a container that is at least twice the size of the root ball with adequate drainage, though it is important to place the container in a protected spot during the winter to prevent root damage.
