Snow-white blooms that never need deadheading make the White Knock Out® Rose Tree a true low-effort showpiece. Rosa ‘RADwhite’ is grafted onto a sturdy trunk, creating a rounded canopy about 4–5 feet tall and wide that flowers continuously from late spring through frost. Clusters of crisp white roses open from soft pink buds and refresh themselves freely. Deep green foliage stays clean thanks to strong resistance to black spot and mildew.
Unlike traditional rose standards that demand constant grooming, this one keeps its shape and keeps blooming with minimal intervention. The tree form lifts the flowers to eye level, making it ideal as a focal point in a bed or flanking an entry. It handles heat and moderate drought once established, and the fast growth fills in quickly. Plant one in a decorative container for a patio statement, or anchor a small garden with a pair for symmetry.
White Knock Out® Rose – Tree Form Care
Set it in full sun for strongest bloom production, though it tolerates light partial sun in hotter climates. Choose a planting site with good drainage and workable garden soil, avoiding spots that stay saturated after rain. Water thoroughly at planting, then keep moisture consistent during the first month while roots establish; afterward, water when the top few inches feel dry. Apply a slow-release rose fertilizer in early spring and again in early summer to maintain steady flowering.
Prune in early spring before new growth pushes, shortening branches to maintain a balanced canopy. Remove any shoots that emerge from the trunk or below the graft to preserve the tree form. While blooms are self-cleaning, you can trim clusters if you prefer a tidier look. In colder regions, protect the graft area with mulch around the base and wrap the trunk if exposed to harsh winter winds.
White Knock Out® Rose – Tree Form Spacing
Allow at least 4–5 feet between plants so each canopy develops fully without crowding. For containers, select a pot 20 inches or wider with drainage holes to support the elevated canopy and root system. Surround the base with low ornamental grasses for movement, edge with coneflowers for contrast, or frame with compact evergreen shrubs to highlight the bright white blooms.
