The Whitecap Shasta Daisy has the classic good looks of a daisy and adds a vibrant burst of color to an outdoor space. The narrow petals feature rounded ends and are pure white, making them stand out. The Leucanthemum x superbum is a prolific bloomer during the spring and summer, so plan to enjoy flowers for most of the growing season. This compact and dense plant is sturdy and will not separate or flop, even after heavy rainfall.

This is a clump-forming plant with a mounded growth habit. The white flowers with yellow centers are offset by dense, lance-shaped foliage in a dark green hue. Plant these Shasta Daisies on their own to create a stunning focal point, or include them in a mixed planting or container. The pure white flowers complement almost any design and are right at home in a cottage- or meadow-themed space. Trim the stems to feature the cut flowers in an arrangement. Grow the Whitecap Shasta Daisy as a perennial in zones 5 through 9.

Whitecap Shasta Daisy Care

Plant the Whitecap Shasta Daisy in full sun in rich, well-drained soil. Morning sun and afternoon shade is best in hot climates. Give these daisies one inch of water per week. Container plants may need water more often.

Remove dead or damaged growth as needed. This plant is an herbaceous perennial, so trim all the growth to a few inches above ground level after the first frost. Apply mulch around the base to protect the roots during the winter. Move container-grown plants to a protected area, or plant them in a garden bed, and add a layer of mulch for the winter.

Whitecap Shasta Daisy Spacing

Whitecap Shasta Daisies stand 14 to 16 inches tall and wide. These are clump-forming plants, so space the daisies 16 to 18 inches apart, and they will fill in, creating a continuous planting. Feature these plants in a container that measures 8 to 10 inches wide.
