Winner's Circle™ Climbing Rose is a bright red, lightly fragranced rose. This rose continuously blooms from early summer to fall. After blooming, your Winner's Circle™ Climbing Rose will continue to provide your garden with some flair with its orange hips in the fall. This rose looks elegant climbing up any fence, trellis, or pergola.
The hardy Winner's Circle™ Climbing Rose is disease resistant, with a high resistance to black spot. It grows in USDA hardiness zones 5-9 and is both heat and cold tolerant. It grows to a mature height of 10-12 feet tall and has a spread of 4-5 feet wide.
Winner's Circle™ Climbing Rose Care
Winner's Circle™ Climbing Rose should get full sun, at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. This plant is tolerant of partial shade, but will produce more blooms getting direct sun. Water this rose regularly when the soil is dry until the rose is established. Winner's Circle™ prefers a loamy soil of pH 5.5 to 7.0.
You should train your rose to climb on a strong structure like a trellis in the spring. Before buds appear in the spring, prune off the deadwood in order to encourage vigorous growth during the summer. Feed your rose throughout the growing season with a rose-specific fertilizer. Mulch the area surrounding the rose plant before winter to protect the roots from severe cold weather.
Winner's Circle™ Climbing Rose Spacing
Winner's Circle™ Climbing Rose can grow to about 4 feet wide. You should give these plants at least that much room to grow for best results. When planting in a container, make sure to choose one that is double the width of the plant’s root ball, and plant only as deep as the root ball.
