Be the first gardener in your neighborhood to include this viburnum in your landscape. It’s a new introduction for spring 2021. Its thick, leathery, deeply veined evergreen leaves, large showy yet dainty white flowers, and blue berries will provide year-round interest in your garden. Yang Viburnum can be grown in shade to full sun conditions in USDA hardiness zones 7, 8, and 9. At maturity, this short shrub will reach 24 inches in height with a spread of 48 inches. Choose Yang viburnum because it’s more heat tolerant than David viburnum, it has very attractive foliage and produces eye-appealing flowers and fruit in the spring and summer.
This viburnum is deer and rabbit resistant, heat tolerant, and has average watering needs once established. The flowers make excellent cut flowers. This plant is a great choice for use as a short divider hedge or to edge garden beds. It can also be used as a border plant, in mass plantings, or as a focal point in a garden. Its mounded growth habit makes it a good choice for a year-round filler plant in a container garden.
Yang® Viburnum Care
This easy to care for shrub doesn’t require regular pruning. Remove damaged and crossed stems in the spring. Flowers appear on old wood so prune only if necessary. Yang viburnum will survive in shady conditions but will produce more flowers if grown in full sun.
Fertilize in the spring, if desired with a granular fertilizer created for woody plants such as rose fertilizer.
Yang® Viburnum Spacing
Space individual plants a minimum of 48 inches apart to give them room to spread.
