The Yardline™ Viburnum or Viburnum x 'NCVX5' serves many functions in a landscape, making it a well-rounded shrub to include in your yard. This Viburnum is a sizable, stately shrub that can reach up to 12 feet tall but maintains a narrow profile for easy maintenance and flexible placement in areas with limited space. Tiny, white, star-shaped flowers bloom in clusters and give way to red berries by fall. This evergreen features glossy, green, lanceolate foliage.
Use the Yardline™ Viburnum to create an impressive hedge that offers year-round color. Shield a deck or patio or define a property line with this shrub. The tall stature makes this perennial an excellent backdrop to a mixed bed. This Viburnum is generally disease and pest resistant and is fully hardy in zones 7 through 9.
Yardline™ Viburnum Care
Full Yardline™ Viburnum in full sun to part shade for best results. This perennial needs rich, moist, well-drained soil with a neutral or acidic pH. While Yardline™ Viburnum is drought tolerant once established, it does best when watered during a dry period. An annual dose of slow-release fertilizer each spring supports continued growth.
Remove offshoots or suckers in the spring. Shape the Viburnum as needed after the flowers fade. This shrub can be trained to have a tree-like form by selecting a leader and removing the lower branches.
Yardline™ Viburnum Spacing
Yardline™ Viburnum is a large shrub that stands 6 to 12 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. Create a hedge by leaving 3 to 4 feet between shrubs.
