Flower Carpet® Rose has been the go to plant for a ground cover rose for decades. Up until now, yellow colored roses generally tended to fade to white or change color to coral and orange as it aged. Yellow Flower Carpet® Rose does not fade or change color. It stays evenly yellow and blooms non-stop for the entire summer into the fall. Flower Carpet® Rose can be planted as so much more than just a groundcover. Low informal hedges, erosion control on a hillside, in large hanging baskets, in containers on a deck or as foundation planting around the house,Yellow Flower Carpet ® Rose will perform beautifully.

The sunny yellow blooms of the Flower Carpet® Rose are contrasted by glossy, apple green foliage that is deciduou. Unlike other types of Roses, Flower Carpet® needs very little maintenance once planted and will keep blooming without any deadheading. The shape is very mounded and trailing, making for great weed suppression as it quickly fills a garden space.

Yellow Floral Carpet® Rose Care

Floral Carpet® Roses like a very sunny location where it can have at least 8 hours of direct sun. Shading early in the day or late in the afternoon will not affect blooming negatively. A wide range of soil pH from acidic to alkaline is acceptable. Well drained, moist soil  is needed. No Roses like to stand in water and will develop root rot issues. Soils texture can range from very poor and stoney to rich and loamy. Fertilizing should be done annually in the early spring as the new leaves emerge. Using a slow release, well balanced fertilizer will keep blooming vigorous.

Pruning is rarely needed. Only cut back if it outgrows its allocated space. Yellow Floral Carpet® Rose mixes well into many different garden schemes. Cottage Garden, modern container garden and drought tolerant planting. Once the Flower Carpet® Rose is established it is tough as nails.

Yellow Flower Carpet® Rose Spacing

Flower Carpet® Rose is a ground hugging spreader. Height of 2 feet and a width of 5-6 feet. Spacing of plants for ground cover use is recommended at 4-5 feet on center. When planting Flower Carpet® Rose in a container it is recommended to use at least a 24 inch diameter pot.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
