Create a lovely cottage-inspired garden or add a brilliant burst of color by featuring the Bellissima Red English Daisy in your space. The double blooms have a rounded form and are a deep burgundy hue. The fluffy-looking spring-time flowers of the Bellis perennis bloom on tall stems and stand above the round, dark green foliage.
Include this charming perennial in beds, borders, or mass plantings. Use this plant as a groundcover, although, in mild climates, Bellissima Red English Daisy can be a rather aggressive grower, so featuring this stunner in a container may be a solution that allows you to enjoy the beautiful flowers without watching this plant overtake your space. Bellissima Red English Daisy grows as a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 9.
Bellissima™ Red English Daisy Care
Plant in full sun, but in warm climates, select a spot with afternoon shade to encourage longer blooming. This plant is not fussy about the soil pH, but it prefers rich, well-drained soil. Regularly water this plant, so the soil stays consistently damp but not soggy. Plants grown in rich soil will not need fertilizer, but a dose of balanced fertilizer in the spring is helpful for plants in low-quality soil.
Pruning is unnecessary, and deadheading will not encourage an extended blooming cycle. Remove dead or damaged growth as needed.
Bellissima™ Red English Daisy Spacing
This lovely perennial will reach 6 to 10 inches tall and spread 6 to 8 inches. Plants can be spaced 5 to 7 inches apart when creating a dense planting.
