The Blue Bouquetta® Garden Sage or Salvia nemorosa makes a lovely addition to an outdoor space, and while the flowers are tiny, they provide a bold burst of color. Tall stems are loaded with purple-blue flowers near the top starting in June and lasting into the summer. The lower portion of the stems features glossy green foliage.

This plant has a dense, compact form. Plant several in a bed to create a striking sea of tall flower spikes that will gently sway in the breeze. Line a walkway or plant along a fence for a colorful border. This beauty also makes a great container plant so that the tall flowering stems can be enjoyed up close on a deck or porch. The flowers attract pollinators, and this plant grows as a herbaceous perennial in USDA zones 4 through 8.

Blue Bouquetta® Garden Sage Care

This lovely blooming plant requires full sun. Soil should be rich and well-drained. New plants need consistent watering, while established plants need water when the top few inches of soil dry out. Apply a balanced fertilizer during the spring. 

Remove damaged growth throughout the growing season and trim back all growth to a few inches in the fall or early spring.

Blue Bouquetta® Garden Sage Spacing

This upright plant will reach 8 to 10 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide. Space plants 9 to 11 inches apart to create a continuous wall of greenery.
