Your new favorite ground cover is here. This beautiful, compact, and short garden sage is made perfect by its tall and lively purple blooms. This Garden Sage starts with a soft green at the stem, but erupts with an abundance of purple bell shaped flowers. This is a must add to the landscape, even if a small amount of space is available. 

The Bumbleberry Garden Sage is a magnet to pollinators. When planted, bees have hundreds, if not thousands of small flowers to choose from. This plant is also beloved by butterflies and hummingbirds. This sage can be planted in containers, along borders, by itself…the possibilities are endless. It will be a worthy addition no matter where it’s placed, and deer will not be a threat as it’s deer resistant.

Bumbleberry Garden Sage Care

This perennial plant survives in hardiness zones four through eight.  It will grow best in full sun. It does prefer moist, well drained soil. If a drought is observed, supplemental watering will be necessary, especially if planted in a container. It is semi-drought tolerant, however so if it misses a supplemental water, it will likely survive.

Flowers can be removed after blooming to promote more blooms. The entire plant can be trimmed to the ground once the warm season is over.

The Bumbleberry Garden Sage is on the shorter side, only topping out at 10-12 inches tall. It tends to spread, and should be spaced 12 to 14 inches apart.
